The plates are out, the napkins are folded, and there is just enough room to squeeze in another place. Someone is bringing a friend. Pull up an extra chair: a good table always leaves room for company.

These soft washed linen napkins bring natural texture and understated charcoal colour to the setting. Fold them simply beside each plate or lay them loosely across the tableware, a considered finishing touch without making supper feel formal.

For meals planned weeks ahead and invitations made that afternoon, they help make each place feel thoughtfully prepared.
